Rapper Gunna has announced the 4th installment of the “Drip Season” series, dropping Jan. 7th, on New Music Friday. The album will feature a superstar roaster such as Young Thug, Future, Drake, Chloe Bailey, G. Herbo, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Chris Brown, and Kodak Black.
Gunna previewed a diss track on Twitter that featured a diss track aimed toward opinionated rapper Freddie Gibbs. The song featured on his new album will likely generate colossal streaming numbers.
The ongoing beef stems from Freddie Gibbs labeling Gunna a Snitch for participating in an old TV interview; with a local news outlet about the arrest & murder charges brought against his cousin, Davonte Benton. The segment aired on “Crime Stoppers” before Gunna was famous. He interviewed with The Breakfast Club last May and denied the claims. You can watch the video below where he addressed the controversy at the 12:30 minute mark.
After posting the video, Gunna tweeted, “When my album drops, Freddie Gibbs will be the biggest moment of his career.” The tweet became viral and started to trend within a few hours on social media. Gunna’s comments didn’t go unnoticed, and it quickly gained the attention of Gibbs, which didn’t hold back.
Gunna is one of the hottest rappers in the game, surpassing 10 billion streams on Spotify in 2020. But who will win this war of words? We place our bets on Freddie Gibbs, he’s no stranger to rap beef, and he’s one of the best lyrics in Hip Hop. We’ll wait to see how this all ends up.
