In an announcement marked by anticipation, THE CHALLENGE: USA shared its line-up of 18 titans hailing from CBS’s SURVIVOR, BIG BROTHER, and THE AMAZING RACE. These competitors will be battling six iconic veterans from MTV’s THE CHALLENGE in a riveting face-off anticipated to set the summer ablaze. The premiere kicks off in two parts: part one launching on Thursday, Aug.10 at 10:00 PM ET/PT, while part two unfolds on Sunday, Aug.13 from 9:00 PM ET/PT. These spectacles will be aired on the CBS Television Network and Paramount+’s streaming service.
Post the CBS Television Network’s premiere, the next chapter of MTV’s renowned global reality franchise will greet audiences twice a week for the first three weeks, on Thursdays and Sundays at designated times. Starting from Thursday, Aug.31, THE CHALLENGE: USA will establish its weekly rendezvous every Thursday from 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT. T.J. Lavin, the beloved host, will reprise his role.
Assembled in Croatia, the CBS group brings together a dynamic mix of popular contestants, including SURVIVOR winners Michele Fitzgerald and Chris Underwood; BIG BROTHER’s Josh Martinez, Tyler Crispen, and Tiffany Mitchell; as well as Luis Colon and Dusty Harris from THE AMAZING RACE. MTV’s THE CHALLENGE veterans, previous champions Tori Deal, Jonna Mannion, Wes Bergmann, and the contestant with the highest number of season victories, Johnny “Bananas” DeVenanzio, will join the CBS reality stalwarts.
This confrontation between the CBS all-stars and the franchise legends is a historical first for CHALLENGE on CBS. At the culmination of this showdown, only a single male and female contestant will emerge victorious as Challenge Champions, each claiming an equal part of the $500,000 grand prize. MTV’s THE CHALLENGE, which hit screens on June 1, 1998, holds the title of the inaugural reality competition series. THE CHALLENGE: USA is brought to you by MTV Entertainment Studios and Bunim/Murray Productions, produced by Julie Pizzi, Kevin Lee, and Jacob Lane.
Subscribers of Paramount+ with SHOWTIME can enjoy live streaming via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, as well as access it on-demand. Paramount+ Essential subscribers, on the other hand, won’t have live streaming available, but can catch up with on-demand content the day following the special’s airing.
